It is so fascinating to discover how hairdressing follows the fashion and the silhouette of dress. In this beautiful picture we can see a typical coiffure of the 6th decade (19th century). A full dress, characteristic of the middle of the century, began to flatten in front (though still full on the back), and hair, which used to be arranged at sides, moved backwards into such splendid low coiffures.
And now let's stop for a moment, to admire this silent, unearthly beauty.
