Here the most subtle handmade lace was born, so honorably worn by noble ladies. The heat of Italian sun, bright colours and loud talking and constant endless noise... – doesn't it remind you Carmen's tobacco factory?

The lace workers used specific oblong-shape pillows, on which they would make lace, placing the scheme underneath the lace in process, with the help of bobbins (as in this picture) or needle. It was a very precise, time-consuming work, but not necessarily boring!
