Gulf of Mannar

The combination of bright red and white pearls is timeless – the word "fashion" is inapplicable here. Its history goes back to very distant times when pearls were gathered in warm Southern seas. Ancient pearl merchants used to carry a red cloth among their belonging – they would put pearls on it in order to estimate the price of pearls more accurately. We called the set after the Gulf of Mannar: until the middle of the 20th century, it was one of the biggest natural pearl resources and trading centres.
To create this shell shaped brooch and earring set, as many as 6 sizes of pearls were used. The brooch is adorned with dark red corals and an imposing teardrop pearl. The pendant pearl can be removed, allowing the brooch to be worn any direction, matching your clothes and mood.
The set is bright and vivid, created for a strong woman who knows exactly what she wants. Feminine charm, energy and self-confidence – these are the words to describe the effect.
