Custom order bracelet

You probably did not expect to see something like this among creations of „Filigrania“? Neither did we. :) This custom order bracelet was a gift to a young man by his fiancée.

In the bracelet, very special sentiment stones were used, telling their own story to the couple, amber beads, cotton and linen threads, natural leather and… her hair braid: this is the true secret of this bracelet, though it seems only a simple brown cord.

We pleated it from the girl’s hair according to a recreated Victorian hair jewelry technique. It is a very deep-rooted tradition to give a jewelry piece made out of one’s hair as a present. In the times gone by, young women frequently gave bracelets or watch chains made out of their hair to their chosen ones. A huge power is hidden in human hair. It unites people with a very tight bonds and gives the wearer strong protection.
